School Visits

Goal of this feed is to help promote awareness of kidlit & YA creators who enjoy connecting with young readers through school visits, and appreciation of educators and librarians who appreciate the value to young readers of a school visit from an author or illustrator.

The feed will search through lists of approved users for hashtags and phrases like #schoolvisit #authorvisit "school visit" etc.

I will continue to tweak search parameters to improved the feed. Feel free to let me know if you have suggestions. Note that there is sometimes a short delay before custom feeds propagate to the native Bluesky app.

Those already in many of my kidlit/YA-related Lists (see my Lists tab on my Bluesky profile) are automatically approved. BlueskyFeedCreator looks through your most recent 50 posts for key hashtags and phrases. List posts automatically sync every 24 hours unless I sync manually.

To be added to the Approved List, please reply to the pinned post in this feed. I no longer have the time to manually search for individual requests, sorry. Thanks to Bluesky Feed Creator, replies to the pinned feed get turned into Invite Requests, which I can easily scan and approve (or not). PLEASE FILL OUT YOUR PROFILE BEFORE REQUESTING TO BE ADDED, INCLUDING A LINK WHERE PEOPLE CAN FIND OUT MORE ABOUT YOU. If it's not already clear from your profile info (that you're from the kidlit/YA community, educator or librarian who sometimes posts about school visits), please include info. Reason for the approval list: To avoid having people hijacking the hashtag for posts that DON'T have anything to do with school visits.
